COMPETITION

Dear teachers, pedagogues, educators and professors,

Become partners in the world celebration of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO Pact), which takes place in parallel in all member states and NATO partners.

Ask the children and the youth what NATO is and listen carefully to their answers. Preparations are not desirable so that we can hear what they have learned and understood from the information that circles daily around them. We promise that it will be interesting, full of fun moments, surprising wisdom, anticipated and unexpected gags and associations, and even criticism. Do not worry if the kids are small to give some answer to this question, because in our game there are no wrong answers, and everyone is precious with its uniqueness.

C O M P E T I T I O N

GAUSS Institute – Foundation for New Technologies, Innovations and Knowledge Transfer from Bitola signed an agreement with the North Atlantic Alliance (NATO) to implement the project Children@Game.Edu.NATO to mark the 70th anniversary of the establishment of NATO. On this occasion GAUSS Institute will open a public call for participation in a rewarded competition.

Do not worry if the kids are little to give some answer to this question, because in our game there are no wrong answers, and everyone is precious with its uniqueness.

One mentor can take part with several entries in all categories within the contest.

Certification of the participants, proclamation of the awarded individuals and schools, as well as the promotion of materials collections (a total video story and a printed book with your works, statements or drawings) will be performed during a solemn event organized by the GAUSS Institute before the very end of the school year.

CATEGORIES

1. Mini story “What is NATO?”

Ask students what is NATO and ask them to record their sincere thoughts in the form of an answer to your question.

The respondent’s response must be honest, and may be quite short, or contain additional content that the child will be able to explain on this issue including personal opinions, attitudes and expectations.

We also welcome essays that correspond to the topic.

The educator sends a summed Word document with a collection of multiple responses written with Cyrillic support and names of the children interviewed (appropriate name and age of the child, after each written statement, mini-text or essay). The document is sent to the e-mail address: nato@gaussinstitute.org

2. Drawing or comics on the topic “What is NATO”

Ask the students what is NATO and ask them to draw their sincere answers in response to your question. The format and techniques for drawing drawings are a free choice of mentors and students.

The content of the drawing should correspond to the age characteristics of the student – author. The student – author has the task and the right to present his personal, sincere understandings, views and performances, regardless of the attitudes of the environment.

The drawings are sent signed with the name of the author and age of the student on the front side (on the very face of the drawing) along with the data of the educator-mentor and the school / institution / kindergarten on the back of the drawing, scanned by email at nato@gaussinstitute.org or by post to the following address: GAUS Institute, Pitu Guli 27, 7000 Bitola

3. Mini movie entitled “What is NATO” (1 minute)

The video material in 16: 9 format (horizontal picture) and good quality, should contain exclusively free, short, very honest and unique expressions of the students, who were asked “What is NATO.”

One author can send more movies with a duration of up to 1 minute, to the email address nato@gaussinstitute.org

In the sent email we expect info of the author, names of the respondents in the order of appearance in the movie, age and school.

The recordings can be made in a well-lit room or outdoors.

The number of students interviewed in a single movie is the free choice of the author of the film (teacher or student in the role of author).

Every honest answer is welcomed and accurate, as long as it corresponds to the student’s age, independent of the position and / or the understanding of the movie’s author, and regardless of whether the interviewee has clear or vague idea of the notion of NATO at that moment.

The movie must not contain background music and visual enhancements, so it is suitable for further full or partial fit in a promotional movie.

The author of the movie takes personal responsibility for the consent of the parents of the recorded students.
